Framework: winning a place puts you on an approved list for future work. It's the entry ticket, not guaranteed work.

In plain English

ESPO (Leicestershire County Council's purchasing body) wants suppliers of one-piece classroom chairs and related seating for its catalogues, mostly delivered direct to its customers, with some deliveries to its Leicester distribution centre. This sets up a list of approved suppliers running from 1 February 2027 to 28 February 2029; a place on it is the entry ticket to future work, not guaranteed work, and the estimated value is £1,041,667.

Good fit for: Manufacturers or suppliers of school chairs and seating who can deliver across the UK public sector.

What the buyer says

ESPO is a trading department of Leicestershire County Council. It is a non-profit making body owned and operated jointly by six local authorities. We provide a catalogue range, providing our customers with access to over 28,000 products that cover all key areas of education and wider public sector requirements. We are establishing a catalogue framework for the supply of Educational One-Piece Chairs and related seating products (for the ESPO catalogues). Goods are predominantly for direct delivery to ESPO customers, however some goods may be for delivery to ESPO’s distribution centre, Leicester. The purpose of this Framework is to complement ESPO’s existing Educational Furniture Framework (79_25), with a specific focus on expanding and developing chair and seating ranges. For those Suppliers appointed to Framework 79_25, it should be noted that this ITT is intended to establish a Framework as an interim arrangement that will expire no later than 28 February 2029, aligning with the expiry of the current 79_25 Educational Furniture Framework. The Framework is NOT divided into lots. Please refer to the tender documents for any further details - the closing date for submission of Tenders is 12:00 (12 noon / 12pm) on 23 November 2026.
