In plain English

The Home Office, working with the National Police Chiefs' Council, is engaging the market ahead of a possible future procurement of Conducted Energy Devices (Tasers) and related equipment, consumables, software and support services for UK policing, with a contract period of 2027 to 2031 and an estimated value of £146,000,000. This is preliminary market engagement only, not an open tender, so there is nothing to bid for yet.

Good fit for: Manufacturers and suppliers of police less-lethal weapons, CED devices, cartridges and related support services.

The catch (with the notice's own words):
  • Not yet open for bids The Home Office...is undertaking market engagement regarding the potential future procurement
  • No confirmed future quantities The RFI does not currently provide a confirmed quantity for any future procurement or for covert CED demand.
