What the buyer says
The Authority has recently secured additional floor space within the Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) following the relocation of the confidential paper shredding operation to another area of the depot. This additional space presents an opportunity to redesign and optimise the existing MRF layout to improve operational performance and future-proof the facility. The Authority is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Tenderer to undertake the design, supply, installation, commissioning, and testing of a redesigned materials recycling line incorporating both the existing and newly available floor areas. The redesigned solution shall aim to: • Improve operational efficiency and throughput. • Enhance health, safety, and welfare standards. • Increase automation and reduce manual handling where practicable. • Reduce contamination levels within material streams. • Improve the quality and value of recovered materials. • Provide flexibility to accommodate future changes in recycling materials and processing requirements. The scope of works shall include, but not be limited to: • Assessment of the existing MRF operation and site constraints. • Design of a new MRF layout and processing line. • Removal and disposal, or relocation where applicable, of existing MRF equipment. • Supply of all new equipment required for the proposed solution. • Integration of both existing and new equipment into the redesigned processing line. • Installation, commissioning, performance testing, and handover of the complete system. • Provision of operator training and relevant documentation. • Provision of warranties for all new equipment supplied under the Contract. • Provision of ongoing maintenance and support services, including details of response times and planned preventative maintenance…
